Download Your Facebook !

I used to think that Facebook had some sort of expiry date on my posts and updates. But thanks to the "Download Your Information" option I can see that my very first update in November of 2008 was "talking to Malu". I don't know if anybody else cares but I thought it was 'very' cool that I can backup my entire Facebook profile. It includes all of my videos and 'every' last post that I ever made. Great for autobiographical information, nostalgia, or many other reasons.

It's really easy. The instructions are here. But in short you just go to the "Account" drop down menu in the upper right hand side of your Facebook page. Then you select "Account Settings". Toward the bottom of the next page that comes up is "Download Your Information"; it's the next to the last think on the page. You'll click on the "learn more" link that's beside it where you will put your password in at the bottom. Depending on how many years you've been Facebooking, it will prepare the download for you and will email you as soon as it's finished. For me that was a 181 meg download.
